Prve reakcije na Janetin nastup

Kao što se i očekivalo, Janetin deo tribute-a Majklu i trailer za film "This Is It" je ono po čemu će se pamtiti ova dodela nagrada (kada se buka oko skandla koji je napravio Kanye West stiša).

Gotovo svi učesnici i mediji najveće interesovanje, i pre i posle dodele, pokazali su upravo za nastup Janet Jackson.

Tokom Madoninog govora i nastupa plesača prisutni u sali su skoro zaspali, a onda se pojavila Janet i izazvala histeriju kakvu dugo nismo videli na dodeli MTV nagrada. Janet je takodje jedina nagradjena stajaćim ovacijama od strane svojih kolega.

Majkl bi svakako bio ponosan na svoju "malu sestru" a prve reakcije svetskih medija su više nego pozitivne.

The loud, almost angry performance had the audience on its feet.

It was the number many were excited about before the show. On the red carpet, singer Sean Paul said he couldn't wait. He was "really looking forward to seeing Janet Jackson perform. It will be emotional. I think everybody in music was influenced by Michael Jackson."

Singer Sean Kingston agreed on the must-see performance of the evening. "Janet Jackson," Kingston said. "That's gonna be big."

Shakira, who saw some of the rehearsal for the tribute, said she believed it would be "very emotional."

TV talk-show host Jimmy Fallon said he also was looking forward to the tribute. "Michael Jackson made MTV, and MTV made Michael Jackson. You know that MTV will have a really well-done, touching tribute."

And then part-time Atlantan Janet Jackson, clad in a tight black and white outfit, took to the stage live to re-create “Scream,” her classic duet with her big brother. Only this time, she was singing Michael’s part and impressively recreated the dance moves from the video as Michael gyrated on a video screen behind her.

The crowd responded with a standing ovation.

As the future-shock intro to "Scream" hit the screen, and plumes of white fog sprouted up amid a space-age set made up of white honeycombs, Janet kicked through a mirror and emerged to screams from fans and celebs alike, as Alicia Keys, Beyoncé and Pink hooted their excitement.

Wearing a black-and-white, skintight leather dress with matching pants, Janet busted some of hers and Michael's signature moves, flawlessly recreating her late brother's steps as they were projected on the screen behind her. The virtual duet provided a stunning end to the tribute, as Janet looked heavenward with hands clasped in front of her face and bowed her head.

She’s kept pretty quiet since the death of her brother Michael, but at tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards, Janet Jackson broke her silence in a big way.

The “Rhythm Nation” songstress indulged the crowd at Radio City Music Hall with a killer performance of “Scream,” synched up with footage of the late King of Pop singing the same song.

Janet looked confident and intense as she worked the stage, showing off a fit and fine form underneath her black and white ensemble.
